Below are some articles that that the board of the Belgian Euro-Atlantic Youth thinks are worth the read. All of the articles are written in either Dutch, English or French. If you come across some interesting articles or texts, please do not hesitate to contact the webmaster. If possible, we'll put it online in order to share it with the rest of the Euro-Atlantic family.
1. Euro-Atlantic World (nr. 94 - March 2007 - new lay-out !!)
In this fresh, modern lay-out, the BEAA presents an edition of high quality. Jean De Ruyt, permanent representative of Belgium with the EU, has written a message for our readers. Then there's a speech of Mrs. Zhang Qiyue, Ambassador of China, included. On a lighter note, you can browse through the pictures of the classic BEAA Gala Diner, held on December 10th, 2007. 2. Euro-Altantic World (nr. 93 - December 2007)
BEAA-president and former Belgian ambassador at NATO, Prosper Thuysbaert, explores Putin's Russia in his Diplomatic Bulletin. His colleague Koen Vervaeke discusses the European strategy towards Africa. A highly interesting article in this edition is Mr. Waterschoot's (former advisor European Commission) view on the recently adopted "Lisbon Agreement". Read more.
3. Euro-Atlantic World (nr. 92 - September 2007)
Mr. Cristoph Jessen, German Ambassador in Belgium, honours our magazine with a short statement. Mr. Steinmeier, German Minister of Foreign Affairs evaluates the German EU Presidency. Sven Biscop, researcher at the Brussels-based KIID-institute, speaks about a more active EU-role in the Middle East. In this September-issue, also a nice photo-report on the Euro-Atlantic Prize of the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs. Read more.
4. Euro-Atlantic World (nr. 91 - June 2007)
Classic is the "Billet Diplomatique" by national BEAA-president Prosper Thuysbaert. A lot of attention goes to the recent German EU-presidency, with a short but strong essay by ambassador Jan de Bock, Belgian permanent representative with the EU. We also have reports on the recent BEAA general assembly, as well as the Interuniversitarian Colloquium of March 30th. Read more.
5. Euro-Altantic World (nr. 89 - December 2006)
In this new edition of our threemonthly periodical a lot of attention is rendered to the new possibilities of cooporatopn between EU and NATO. Marie-Louise Pottier reports on the Antalya Conference, held last summer. There's also a report on the speech held by the minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazachstan in the Egmont Palace. Last but not least, George Friedman gives a fresh view on US perceptions of a Chinese threat. Read more.
6. Euro-Atlantic World ( nr. 88 - September 2006)
The honorary president of the Belgian Euro-Atlantic Council, Count Pierre Harmel, provided the foreword in this edition. Remarkable and well worth reading are the thoughts of former ambassador Alex Reyn about the International Penal Court, as well as BEAY Secretary-General Sofie Rafrafi (ex-winner of the Prize of the Minister of Foreign Affairs) about transatlantic relations after the Iraq-war.
